For starters, you want to make sure that your chosen bathroom window treatments can hold up to changes in temperature and humidity. Wood blinds and shutters can warp in these conditions, which is why we recommend sticking to roller shades, faux wood blinds, or aluminum blinds.

You should also consider the privacy factor, especially if your bathroom is on the first floor. For this, we recommend looking at top-down/bottom-up window treatments similar ones available on Affordable Blinds, as they allow natural light to flow in while providing the right amount of privacy.

Our Least Favorite Bathroom Window Treatments

As we said before, wood blinds and shutters are a terrible choice for bathrooms, as they tend to warp and crack when exposed to serious changes in humidity. If you like the look of wood, go with faux wood blinds instead.

For those looking to buy shades, we would recommend staying away from solar shades. These shades barely provide any sort of privacy, allowing those passing by to see directly into the bathroom.

Our Favorite Bathroom Window Treatments

Our favorite blinds for cheap in bathrooms include faux wood blinds, roller shades, and faux wood shutters. Each of these window treatment types is resistant to moisture and incredibly easy to clean.

Faux Wood Blinds

Faux wood blinds utilize slats that are resistant to moisture. As long as you have them in a window that doesn’t receive a ton of heat from the sun, they will remain straight as an arrow. Plus, faux wood blinds are easy to clean. You won’t have to worry about mildew growing and spreading.

Faux wood blinds can be purchased in a wide variety of colors and styles, including white or real-woodgrain finishes.

Roller Shades

Roller shades are a great look for contemporary bathrooms. They provide total privacy while allowing natural light to filter in if you please. Of course, you can opt for blackout fabrics as well.

For bathrooms, we highly recommend zebra blinds with vinyl materials, as vinyl holds up quite nicely in spaces with high humidity. Of course, you can use fabric roller shades, though make sure to consider the fact that they are more susceptible to mold and mildew.

Faux Wood Shutters

Faux wood shutters are a lot like faux wood blinds in that they are resistant to moisture and they are very easy to keep clean. However, faux wood shutters take it even one step further by giving users a high-end look that feels built into the house. Many believe that they increase the sale value of a home as well.

Finding the right window treatments for your bathroom doesn’t have to be hard. Just head on over to Affordable Blinds to see their incredible selection.
